Marcus's Vision
Marcus brings 37 years of experience in the transportation industry. In the beginning years he was a driver for high-profile companies like Greyhound and Trailways.
Marcus later used his driving experience to work for a limousine company, providing wine tours in the picturesque Napa and Sonoma valleys. During this time, he met a remarkable individual named Sonny Rice. Sonny and Marcus quickly became close friends.
Sonny possessed an exceptional knowledge of the valleys. He knew the ins and outs of the wineries and the best routes to reach them. Marcus continued to learn about the limousine business from Sonny.
However, Marcus had a desire to have his own transportation business. He decided to move to New Orleans to start his limousine business.
Fate
Marcus decided to move to New Orleans, just two months before the devastating hurricane Katrina. Sadly, like many others, he lost almost everything.
His dream of starting his limousine service looked and felt like it was not going to happen. Thessa, Marcus's sister, and his old friend Sonny encouraged Marcus to return to the San Francisco Bay Area.
He returned with $500, a son, and a daughter.
Marcus's Journey
As a single parent raising a son and a daughter, Marcus worked for multiple limousine companies, continuing to learn about the valley with guidance from Sonny.
Sonny helped Marcus secure a position at the same limousine company where Sonny worked. Although Marcus lived in the Bay Area before, seeing the valley through Sonny's eyes helped Marcus truly begin his Napa Valley limousine journey.
During this time, Sonny introduced him to a gentleman named Chad Meyers. Chad's family were the original owners of Silver Oak Winery.
Sadly, Sonny passed away a year later. Marcus's friendship with Chad and his family continued to grow.
Chad Meyers
Chad Meyers eventually convinced Marcus to establish his own transportation company in Napa Valley. Marcus used the wisdom and teaching from Sonny and the encouragement from Chad to help fulfill his dream.
Together with his wife Darlene they started Napa Valley Chauffeur in 2014. Their humble beginnings consisted of an SUV and a Sedan.
Marcus and Darlene were determined to provide exceptional service and share their love for the wine country with guests worldwide.
Marcus envisioned a company that created the ultimate wine experience for their guests. In 2014 his vision of having his own transportation did just that.
Today
Today, Napa Valley Chauffeur has grown into a five-star transportation company, boasting a fleet of eight vehicles.
They transport guests from all over the world. Specializing in creative wine tours and transporting guests throughout Napa, Sonoma, and Healdsburg wine countries.
NVC is trusted by people worldwide to transport them through wine country, where they can savor some of the finest wines the world has to offer.
